The VIC branch aims to represent the EV interests of individuals and businesses throughout the state and to assist the transition to EVs.



Unless otherwise notified the Vic Branch holds an information session on the second Wednesday each month at:

Political party EV policy presentations and Q+A - 7pm Wednesday 12th October at the Scout Hall.

More information will be posted here as it comes to hand.

The August survey of members clearly placed advocacy as our highest priority, so we are hoping for a big turnout on the 12th.


Victorian EV Policy

Vic Branch has reached out to major Victorian political parties (Labor, Liberal and Greens) to request their policies regarding EV uptake in the lead-up to the state election in November. 


Key Dates:

21/08/2022 - Letter sent to major political parties, with invitation to attend monthly AEVA meeting on Wednesday 12th October. Labor's letter attached here

14/10/2022 - EV policy responses due

26/11/2022 - Victorian State Election 


The Greens spokesperson for Transport Sam Hibbins MP has agreed to respond to our questions and to attend our meeting on 12th October.

Communication with relevant representatives of the Liberal, Labor and Greens parties continues.

Show and Shine - Stringybark Festival Rowville - Sunday 16th October

Knox City Council are seeking the support of our members at the Rowville Community Centre. Bryce Gaton is presenting. Members are asked to bring their EVs and talk to the attendees.

10.30am - 12.15pm. More Info coming.

August Supported Event Report

Yackandadah Community Charger Launch 2pm Sunday 28th August.

Yackandadah community groups have combined to install a 50kW fast charger in the town’s public carpark. It will be accessed via the Chargefox platform but owned and run by the community who will control the tariff and return 50% of profit to the community. They have plans to add further chargers in the future.

Vic Branch Vice Chair Paul Fallon and his wife Ros attended the launch on the 28th August to represent the Vic Branch and congratulate the groups and individuals involved in a job well done. Hopefully other towns can follow their example.

Wangaratta member Phil Dwyer and his wife Liz also attended the launch.

Electric Picnic at Metec

Below are a couple of photos from the Electric Picnic which went well Saturday 18th June with 17 cars in the Show and Shine and a total of 46 attendees. We even managed some test rides - thanks Brendan. Highlights were definitely the Aurora Solar Car and test rides in the Polestar.

Geelong: meets the first Friday of every month (excluding January).

Ballarat and region: meets the third Tuesday of every second month. (Odd numbered months).
